How to Safely Watch The Great American Eclipse

On Monday, August 21st, sky watchers across the country will experience the Great American Eclipse. Many of our students with the guidance of our teachers will be safely watching the solar eclipse and we want you to watch this historical event safely too. Please take a moment to review this 2017 Solar Eclipse Safely sheet (http://www.pari.edu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Solar-eclipse-safety.pdf) provided by the American Astronomical Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association and the National Science Foundation. Further, NASA recommends additional safety tips (https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-recommends-safety-tips-to-view-the-august-solar-eclipse) to view the August solar eclipse. Thank you and enjoy! Photo from Nasa Web Site.

Important Information Regarding Your Student’s Enrollment for the 17-18 School Year!

You should receive a letter early in the week of July 17th from the San Mateo Union High School District informing you that the 2017-18 Online Annual Enrollment System powered by InfoSnap is now open! The On-Line Annual Enrollment process performs two important functions. First, it gives you the opportunity to verify for us that the information we have about your student is correct. Second, it gives you the opportunity to provide us with important items such as Health and Medical information which will allow us to better serve your student. It is very important that the Parent/Guardian complete this information. Our on-line enrollment site is safe and secure! Please note: ALL students, grades 9-12, MUST complete the On-Line Annual Enrollment process! The deadline for completing the On-Line Annual Enrollment is Friday, July 28, 2017. Again, it is very important that the On-Line Annual Enrollment be completed by the student’s parent/guardian! Please be advised that the On-line Annual Enrollment must be completed prior to picking up your student’s class schedule!

The schools in the San Mateo Union High School District  are moving early release professional development to a late start schedule in 2017-18 in order to better align our schedules with the sleep needs of adolescents. The schedule for Thursdays at Hillsdale High School will be:

Hillsdale High Recognized as "School of Opportunity"
